57 Seconds is a 2023 American science fiction thriller film directed by Rusty Cundieff, written by Cundieff and Macon Blair, and starring Josh Hutcherson and Morgan Freeman. It is based on the story "Lucifer" by E.C. Tubb.[2][3][4]

Plot[]

Franklin and Bookman were two passionate bloggers that never passed on an opportunity to interview someone with amazing accomplishments in the tech world. This was why when Anton Burrell, a visionary tech guru, was in need of a few interviews, Franklin and Bookman jumped on the chance.

Once Franklin arrived at the Burrell residence he was in awe at the grandeur of the place. But as soon as he stepped foot on the property he sensed something was wrong and proceeded with caution. As he entered the house Burrell was in the middle of a heated argument with some mysterious figures.

Without time to think, Franklin stepped in to rescue Burrell, inadvertently breaking up the dispute and saving Burrell from harm. As Franklin was helping Burrell to his feet, something glistened on the floor, it was a ring, it appeared out of place and in that moment, Franklin knew it must have been important. Feeling obligated to return the ring to Burrell, without his knowledge Franklin slipped it onto his finger.

The moment the ring touched Franklin's skin he felt a surge of energy rush through him as he was thrust 57 seconds back in time. With this new superpower, Franklin knew he could bring justice to his late sister who'd died from a rare illness, believed to have been caused by a pharmaceutical company.

Burrell revealed he was working on a time travel app that could solve criminal cases but had encountered a few snags in his research. With its ability to travel back in time, Franklin was able to use the ring to get the evidence they needed to bring the pharmaceutical company to justice and, in the process, avenging his sister.

Burrell became good friends and both moved on in their lives, knowing they had taken part in something amazing that night. While Bookman documented the whole story, Franklin decided to take a break from blogging and start a career as a private investigator to help the vulnerable fight injustice.
