Adam Douglas Driver (born November 19, 1983) is an American actor of stage, screen and television. After serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and graduating from the Juilliard School, he has appeared in several Broadway and off-Broadway productions. Since 2012, he has appeared in the HBO series Girls, for which he has received two nominations for the Emmy Award. He has also appeared in such films as J. Edgar (2011), Lincoln (2012), Frances Ha (2012), and Inside Llewyn Davis (2013). On 6 September 2014, Driver won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the 71st Venice International Film Festival for portraying a despairing father in Hungry Hearts (2014).
Driver is scheduled to contribute his acting abilities in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (2015)
