
Aidan Turner (born 19 June 1983 in Dublin, Ireland) is an Irish actor. He is best known for his roles as Kíli in the three-part fantasy film The Hobbit trilogy (2012-2014) and John Mitchell in the supernatural drama series Being Human. Notable television roles include playing Dante Gabriel Rossetti in Desperate Romantics, and Ruairí McGowan in The Clinic. He also portrayed Luke Garroway in the film adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones in 2013. Turner has been cast as Ross Poldark in the new 2015 BBC adaptation of The Poldark Novels by Winston Graham.
