Rosalie Anderson MacDowell (born April 21, 1958) is an American actress. She made her film debut in 1984's Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes and 1985's Brat Pack vehicle film St. Elmo's Fire before receiving critical acclaim for her role in Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989). In 2021, she made her appearance in the Netflix series miniseries Maid, along with her daughter Margaret Qualley, for which she received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. She was married to American former model Paul Qualley in 1986. They have one son and two daughters.
