Boogie Nights is a 1997 drama film written and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. This epic about the adult film industry stars Mark Wahlberg as a nightclub busboy who transforms himself into porn king Dirk Diggler and ultimately becomes intoxicated by success, drugs and lofty aspirations. Set in the 1970s in the Los Angeles suburb of the San Fernando Valley, the film features Oscar-nominated supporting performances by Burt Reynolds as skin-flick auteur Jack Horner and Julianne Moore as a veteran porn icon with maternal instincts.
The film also features cameos by porn actors Nina Hartley (as "Little Bill's promiscuous wife) and Veronica Hart (as the custody hearing judge for Amber Waves' court case).
