Boxcar Bertha is a 1972 American romantic crime drama film produced by Roger Corman and directed by Martin Scorsese, starring Barbara Hershey, David Carradine, Barry Primus and Bernie Casey. The film is a loose adaptation of Sister of the Road.
Plot[]
Bertha (Barbara Hershey) joins union organizer "Big" Bill Shelly (David Carradine) in fighting anti-union forces after an unexpected murder drives them to a life of robbing trains. The atmospheric tale depicts their life on the lam, doing whatever is necessary to survive.
