Burl Ives (1909-1995) is an American singer and actor.
His character Sam the Snowman, voicing him in the 1964 Christmas television special Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, also the narrator of the special. His signature songs are "Silver and Gold", "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" and "Holly Jolly Christmas"
