The fictional cartoon character Casper the Friendly Ghost created by Seymour Reit and Joe Oriolo has appeared in numerous theatrical cartoon shorts, from 1945 - 1959, a live-action theatrical film directed by Brad Silberling titled Casper (1995), two live-action direct-to-video prequels directed by Sean McNamara titled, Casper: A Spirited Beginning (1997) and Casper Meets Wendy (1998), an animated Christmas film made also made for a video titled Casper's Haunted Christmas (2000), and an animated television film titled Casper's Scare School (2006).
