Calum Marsh of New York Times criticized its Pratt's voice, described as "grating" and "unctuous" with the said of "bland, witless, and flagrantly."[13] Kristy Puchko of Mashable described to the whitewashing cast of Pratt as "lack of accent", stated "whatever voice Pratt is doing isn't Brooklyn, and it isn't anything particularly specific, consistent, or exciting."[14] Josh Spiegel of SlashFilm criticized the Pratt's voice in the film as Mario for whitewashing, described as "blandly heroic."[15]
