Legend of the Crystal Coconut The episode begins at night, with a view of Inka Dinka Doo's temple. Inside, the idol says, "Inka Dinka Doo says the time has come!"
Meanwhile, at Cranky's Cabin, Diddy Kong is admiring his reflection in the Crystal Coconut and Donkey Kong is searching Cranky's fridge for a banana cream pie, asking Cranky after a failed search. Cranky is annoyed, and closes the case containing the Crystal Coconut, telling Diddy that it isn't a toy. The case closes on Diddy's finger, but the coconut reveals itself again and heals him. Diddy is surprised by this, and Donkey Kong asks Cranky about the other abilities the coconut contains, but Crank tells them that no one person knows all the mysteries contained by the coconut. He then asks the Kongs to leave, but Diddy informs him that they "can't sleep without a bedtime story," and requests that he tell them the legend of the Crystal Coconut. Cranky does so, but abridges the story so they will leave sooner. DK questions why Inka Dinka Doo chose to be the future ruler of the island, but Cranky cannot answer this either. He then states that he should know the secrets of the Crystal Coconut, being future ruler, but Cranky informs him that Inka Dinka Doo will tell him this when he is ready, and demands that the two apes go home. On their way, Diddy Kong jokingly asks if he thinks "Cranky brushes his teeth before or after he takes them out," but Donkey simply tells Diddy that there is a lot he doesn't know. Diddy tells him he will know in time, but DK wants the answers now.
The two head into Inka Dinka Doo's temple, Donkey Kong demanding that the statue listen to him, but he replies by shouting, "Inka Dinka Doo says the time has come!" Donkey Kong then demands (in song) that he tell him the secrets of the Crystal Coconut, but in response, Inka tells him, "To know everything, you must give up everything." Donkey Kong tries to interpret the riddle, and decides upon something: he gives Diddy his tie collection. Diddy informs him that Inka Dinka is referring to something more valuable. DK asks what is more valuable than his ties, Diddy remarking, "The Crystal Coconut, for one!" This gives Donkey Kong the idea to give up the Crystal Coconut. Diddy tells him he was joking, though Donkey Kong explains that, once he knows all the secrets, he will not need the coconut anymore. Diddy is then concerned on who DK is going to give it to.
At King K. Rool's lair, General Klump and Krusha are requesting for their king to come down from his study. From outside, however, the two can hear him throwing books around in anger. Klump calls him down, stating that his news of of the utmost importance, but K. Rool does not care. Klump then decides that they should give the Crystal Coconut back to Donkey Kong; K. Rool hears this, and swiftly comes down from his study, shocked to hear that DK simply gave up the Crystal Coconut. He asks how he got the coconut, and Klump tells him an exaggerated story, but K. Rool does not care; all he cares about is the fact that he has it, and that nobody can take it from him.
Over on the coast of the island, Kaptain Skurvy has arrived at the island. Skurvy states to his crew that his purpose in being on the island is to claim the coconut in the name of his great great great grandfather. He then swears upon the pirate oath that he will do anything for the one who rids him of his toothache. His crew inform Skurvy that pirates have no honor, saying "we be pure scum!" Skurvy acknowledges this, but states that the pirate oath is an honorable thing. They then head off to steal the Crystal Coconut.
Donkey Kong returns to the temple of Inka Dinka Doo, where he reports that he did what he said, and demands to know everything about the Crystal Coconut; however, Inka Dinka simply states the same thing as before, but angrier. Both Kongs realize that he did not mean to give away the coconut. Diddy wonders what Cranky will say about it, but DK thinks Cranky will understand. However, upon returning and telling him, he realizes that he is wrong. As Cranky is yelling at DK, Kaptain Skurvy and his crew arrive at the cabin, to steal the coconut, and once again states that he will give anything to the one who cures his toothache. He then demands the Crystal Coconut, but Donkey Kong informs them that they do not possess it, and Skurvy asks who does.
Back at K. Rool's lair, the king is deciding upon the first thing he should do with his newly gained power. Klump commends him for gaining the Crystal Coconut, but Krusha blatantly states that Donkey Kong simply gave it to them, and K. Rool is shocked to hear about the cause of his victory. He believes that it is part of a trick set up by the apes, and has his minions give the coconut back. Klump is shocked to hear him say this, but K. Rool just yells for him to do it.
The three groups (while singing Gotta Give it Back) are running through the jungle, Krusha and Klump trying to give the Crystal Coconut back, Donkey Kong trying to get the coconut back, and Kaptain Skurvy and his crew trying to steal it for themselves. K. Rool, meanwhile, is impatiently waiting at his lair when Donkey Kong smashes through the ceiling, demanding he give the coconut back. Upon hearing that, he figures out that him giving over the Crystal Coconut was not a trick, and scorns himself for trying to give it back when Skurvy arrives at the lair, abridging the introduction he gave twice earlier and demanding the coconut. However, the king states that he does not have it; he ordered his minions to give it back. Both then rush back to Cranky's cabin.
Cranky and Diddy are waiting in his cabin, Cranky impatiently asking when DK will return. However, both hear the voice of Klump from outside. They peek outside and hear them from across the bridge, stating that they are giving the coconut back. Cranky believes this to be a trick, and has him ready the trigger barrels. Cranky invites them over, but Diddy presses the barrel, activating a trap floor and sending them plummeting to the ground. After several other failed attempts, they finally get across the bridge and offer him the coconut. Cranky finally realizes that they were not tricking him, but he slams the door in their face. He tells Diddy, but the young monkey informs him that the pirates may return. Cranky then hands Diddy the coconut and transforms into a hologram using it to warn Donkey Kong. Alone, Diddy Kong desperately thinks of a place to hide it.
In the jungle, Donkey Kong stops to rest for a second when Cranky in hologram form appears, telling him that the coconut was returned, and that the pirates are still after it. DK then continues his journey, leaping out of the tree and onto Klump. K. Rool then contacts him through video. The general attempts to inform him that they gave the coconut back, though K. Rool tells him that they should not return the coconut. Klump asks why, and K. Rool informs him that everyone is after it. (when asking what pirates were after the coconut, Kaptain Skurvy and his pirate crew run right over him) Back at Cranky's cabin, Donkey Kong arrives, but sees both Diddy and the Crystal Coconut are gone; when trying to figure out where he is, he instantly thinks of the location and runs off. Seconds after, Skurvy arrives at the cabin, sees the coconut is gone, figures out where it is, and leaves.
Cranky returns to his physical form, and is surprised to see that he is at Inka Dinka Doo's chamber. Diddy explains that he wanted to hide the coconut in a place the pirates would never think of when Green Kroc and Kutlass arrive. Diddy is about to hand them the coconut when Donkey Kong arrives and threatens the pirates to back off. However, at that moment, Skurvy arrives. Kutlass and Green Kroc once again threaten Diddy, but he throws the coconut away and runs, with the pirates running after him. Cranky Kong yells at him again, stating that the entire mess is his fault, and Skurvy demands the coconut. Both throw banter at each other, with Skurvy at one point insulting DK's status as future ruler of the island, which leads Donkey Kong to throwing the Crystal Coconut at his face, knocking his tooth out. He has the coconut, but he notices his toothache is gone. Cranky then tells him that, according to his oath, he owes DK a favor. Skurvy attempts to deny this, but Cranky forces him to owe him the favor. Donkey Kong uses the favor to request for a magazine, but is reminded by Cranky that he has the coconut. He gets the coconut back, and Skurvy states that he will return before leaving. Cranky then commends him for resolving the entire situation, and, before leaving, Donkey Kong tells Inka Dinka Doo that he will be back; the idol simply replies, "Whatever."
K. Rool is impatiently waiting for Krusha and General Klump at his lair. Meanwhile, on Skurvy's ship, Klump is explaining his plan to get the coconut from the pirates to Krusha, both of which are hiding in barrels. Klump's plan is to break out of the barrels, steal the coconut back, and swim back to the island: Krusha, however, mentions that he cannot swim. Klump is angered by the fact that he didn't say this earlier. On the coast of the island, Green Kroc and Kutlass are still chasing Diddy, though he then points out that Skurvy left without them. The episode ends with them trying to hail the ship, while Diddy laughs at them.
Bug a Boogie Donkey and Diddy are playing a spy-type game in the jungle, using Bananaphones (walkie-talkies that look like bananas) to communicate. DK is having quite a bit of fun, but Diddy thinks their game is rather serious. Unbeknownst to them, General Klump and Krusha are spying on the Kongs themselves. Klump believes that the Bananaphones are genuine eavesdropping devices, and he decides to greedily steal one of them for King K. Rool.
DK and Diddy then come upon an object on the ground that looks like an amulet of some sort, and they start debating as to what exactly it is. They get so distracted by it that Klump and Krusha make off with one of the Bananaphones. DK and Diddy see the Kremlings making off with it and Diddy angrily turns red & throws his hat on the ground. They figure that they probably stole it so they could spy on them, so they decide to try and get back at them with the Bananaphone that they still have. DK at first suggests that they "radio them, and then hang up!" Diddy says that won't work, but he knows what will.
Klump and Krusha bring the Bananaphone to an irate K. Rool, who shows no interest in said phone when Klump refers to it as "a bug," and instead starts up a rant about his obsession with power and desire to obtains powerful objects ("that will make me... powerful"). Suddenly, he is cut short by the voices of DK and Diddy being heard on the Bananaphone. According to what the Kremlings hear, DK and Diddy have a shiny amulet that is supposedly even more magical than the Crystal Coconut, and they are going to hide it in the Forbidden Forest of Kongo Bongo. Convinced that what he is hearing is true, K. Rool commands Klump and Krusha to go to the Forbidden Forest and get the amulet for him.
DK and Diddy then turn off their Bananaphone and laugh themselves silly about the prank they have just pulled. However, when they tell Cranky about the joke, he scolds them and tells them that the object they have now got is the evil Amulet of "Bug a Boogie". He tells them to go to the Forbidden Forest and dunk it into the Well of Woe. DK is too frightened to go into the Forbidden Forest, though. Diddy is surprised that DK is acting rather scared, to which DK replies by telling him "I wouldn't want you to get eaten by a Bog Monster," which Diddy finds laughable. Shortly after they leave the cabin, Cranky laughs at the practical joke he has just pulled on the two in order to teach them a lesson. Unknown to Cranky, though, Kaptain Skurvy is coming to the island again to steal the Coconut.
Meanwhile, in the Forbidden Forest, Klump gets lost and starts calling for Krusha. At that point, K. Rool contacts him, demanding to know if he's found DK and the amulet yet. Klump's only answer is "Almost," which further infuriates K. Rool, and he refuses to believe that he is lost. He then walks off, singing his army chants to himself, which K. Rool mocks.
Back at his cabin, Cranky is still chuckling over his prank when Funky comes in, asking what has him so tickled, so Cranky promptly explains to him that he sent DK and Diddy on a wild goose chase. This Angered Funky, who tells Cranky that he had better do something to nullify that prank, or else something bad is going to happen. Cranky doesn't care about that, saying "It's just a practical joke!," but he doesn't notice that his speech is being picked up on DK and Diddy's Bananaphone (which they left with him).
K. Rool overhears Cranky on the other line and is furious that he has sent Klump and Krusha after an amulet that is worthless when they could have been stealing the Coconut. He turns on his cameras and uses it to find Krusha, and orders him to abort the mission and return to headquarters. Krusha sheepishly admits he cannot do that, though, because he is stuck up to his chest in swamp mud. When he sees that Klump is also stuck in the mud with Krusha, K. Rool decides that he will just have to go steal the Coconut himself.
In the meantime, Cranky's laughing is cut short when Funky asks "How did you fit these little pirate dudes in the zen gem?" Cranky then realizes this means that Skurvy has arrived on the island, and that DK needs to be warned of this; Funky finds this predicament a fitting retort to Cranky's own prank. Cranky quickly transforms to his hologram form, leaving Funky behind to watch the Coconut. Immediately following that, Skurvy, Kutlass, and Green Kroc show up. Funky tries to distract them by telling them that they need "cosmic jurisdiction to assign mantras. But before I can do that, you dudes will need a major cosmic cleansing and a total clearing of the chakras." Skurvy and his crew do not understand him, so they instead stuff Funky into a barrel and take everything in the cabin that is not nailed down.
Meanwhile, in the Forbidden Forest, Donkey and Diddy have been wandering around trying to find the Well of Woe, and DK is rather frightened by the forest, which Diddy constantly teases him about. DK explains to Diddy that, in his youth, Cranky always warned him not to go into the Forbidden Forest, and if he did, he encountered a Bog Monster, which he describes through song. Diddy still is not convinced that such a creature exists. Cranky's hologram suddenly appears to them, alerting them to come back to the cabin. DK and Diddy tell them they cannot do so because they still haven't found the Well of Woe, but Cranky just admits that the amulet is not evil at all, and that with Skurvy on the island, he needs their help. Suddenly, his hologram flickers, because he is calling them at the moment Skurvy is stealing the Coconut (and as a result, Cranky ends up re materializing on Skurvy's ship). DK and Diddy head out of the forest, but not before coming upon Klump and Krusha, who are still trapped in the mud. Despite his predicament, Klump demands the apes to give him the amulet, so DK and Diddy do just that and leave, saying they do not want to be here when the Bog Monster shows up. Klump is at first pleased that he succeeded in getting the Kongs to hand over the amulet, but then starts trembling at the realization that there's a Bog Monster lurking about.
DK and Diddy arrive back at Cranky's Cabin and are shocked to find that the only thing left there is Funky, still trapped in the barrel. This makes them realize that Skurvy has already gotten everything on his ship and is getting ready to sail off. Luckily for them, Skurvy did not think to take Funky's plane, so DK and Diddy, forgetting to release Funky from the barrel, take off in the plane. Shortly after they leave, K. Rool (bringing the stolen Bananaphone with him) comes to the cabin to get the Crystal Coconut himself, only to find out that Skurvy beat him to it. Naturally, this does not sit well with him, so he decides that he will just steal it back. Funky points out that Skurvy has a hand-cannon, so K. Rool figures that he will need reinforcements.
K. Rool then heads into the Forbidden Forest and comes upon Klump and Krusha, telling them to get out of the mud so they can go after the Coconut. Klump tries to tell K. Rool that his retrieving the amulet is better news, but K. Rool, already aware that the amulet is worthless, will not listen. Suddenly, he overhears Skurvy on the Bananaphone and gets an idea. Taking a cue from earlier in the episode, he boasts over the Bananaphone so that Skurvy can hear him, claiming that he has a magical, mysterious amulet that is much better than the Crystal Coconut, and that he has it in the forest. This tempts Skurvy enough to get off his ship and head into the forest, taking the Coconut with him.
The moment Skurvy leaves his boat sitting there, DK and Diddy show up. Cranky tells them that they have to go back to the forest to follow Skurvy and get the Coconut. DK is not at all keen on the idea, because he still thinks there is a Bog Monster in there. Upon hearing this, Cranky admits to DK that the Bog Monster he saw in youth was in a disguise that Cranky was using in order to teach DK to stay out of the Forbidden Forest. Now knowing that there was never anything to be scared of, DK takes off for the forest.
Skurvy comes upon K. Rool in the forest and demands that the Kremling King to give him the amulet. K. Rool willingly does so, and then tricks Skurvy into giving him the Crystal Coconut and his hand-cannon, the latter of which he then aims in Skurvy's face. The two villains then start arguing over who exactly is getting what in this trade-off; K. Rool says that he only wants the Coconut, but Skurvy is concerned as to who gets the amulet. Suddenly, DK runs by, yelling that the Bog Monster is on the loose, while a hidden Diddy is heard roaring like one. This frightens Skurvy enough to make him drop the amulet, take his hand-cannon back, and rush off, leaving K. Rool with the Coconut.
K. Rool, on the other hand, is not frightened by Diddy's Bog Monster impression, and he walks up to DK, taunting about how he is now victorious. DK just stands there confidently; it is only when he is finished with his spiel that K. Rool realizes he himself has now sunk up to his chest in swamp mud. DK takes the Coconut out of K. Rool's hand and congratulates Diddy on his impression, but then Diddy fools him by pretending that was not him they just heard roaring, which scares DK into running off. Diddy then sees a strange shadow, mistakes it for that of a Bog Monster, and flees just as Klump and Krusha come in and find their boss stuck in the mud (which Klump believes is K. Rool being eaten by the Bog Monster). K. Rool orders the two to get him out just as they hear an even more fearsome roar behind them.
Back at the cabin, where Cranky has now managed to put everything back, DK remarks that he is glad to be over his Bog Monster fear when they suddenly hear a loud noise that turns out to be Funky snoring. Realizing they forgot to release him, Diddy (who is now holding the amulet himself) gets the napping Funky out of the barrel. Feeling refreshed from all that "negative karma," Funky recognizes the amulet as his hood ornament, which he lost during his last barrel run. Funky leaves with his hood ornament, and then Cranky and Diddy begin laughing at this plot resolution, although DK does not seem to find it as funny.
Ape-Nesia Donkey Kong is relaxing while eating bananas in his treehouse when Diddy pops in for a visit to ask if he wants to see something before accidentally slipping on one of the peels littered around the treehouse. He turns out okay and jokes about bruising his posterior, which DK takes as a hint that he should clean up before anything else happens. As he is cleaning, though Donkey Kong slips on a peel and slides into the elevator, causing it to crash down. Diddy jumps down and asks DK if he's okay, but DK replies "Who are you?" Diddy believes him to be joking at first before realizing that he really has amnesia and runs off to find Cranky.
Elsewhere, Candy is impatiently waiting for DK in the jungle. She becomes furious and declares that "the big ape doesn't know it, but he's in big trouble!" She doesn't notice DK wandering around in the background, nor does he overhear her complaining.
On the beach, Kaptain Skurvy's crew is digging for treasure that Skurvy believes they have buried there, but is not entirely sure where it is. Green Kroc then asks Skurvy why they bury treasure, prompting Skurvy to have Kutlass quote The Pirate Handbook for the answer. Green Kroc still doesn't see the point, since they will dig the treasure up again, but before Skurvy can say anything more, DK comes up to them, asking if they know who he is. Green Kroc attempts to answer for him, but Skurvy interrupts and declares that he is his first mate, "Donkey Croc." (promptly demoting Kutlass to "second mate.")
Meanwhile, Diddy and Cranky are at the spot where Donkey Kong fell. Diddy has explained the situation to Cranky, who advises using Funky's plane for aerial surveillance. As Diddy wanders off, Cranky then states to himself that he hopes it isn't a trick so DK doesn't have to owe him twenty bananas or else he'll give DK "something he'll never forget."
On Skurvy's ship, Donkey Kong is not sure that he is really a croc, instead believing himself to be an ape, but Skurvy convinces him (during a song) that he is a croc by putting a large frame between them and mimicking Donkey's actions, giving the impression of a mirror. Shortly following, "Donkey Croc" is given his own pirate hat and eye patch, and eagerly awaits his first task as a member of Skurvy's crew. Skurvy orders him to go steal the Crystal Coconut, but since he no longer knows where is is, Skurvy has to make a map for him first.
Diddy and Funky, meanwhile, have been searching for DK by air in Funky's plane. They don't find him, but they catch sight of Skurvy's ship below and head back to Cranky's Cabin to alert him of this news.
Donkey Croc sets off in his task, along the way stealing Candy's necklace, Eddie the Yeti's club, and King K. Rool's "throne", leaving banana peels in their place. However, at the moment Donkey Croc leaves with K. Rool's throne, Klump, Krusha, and King K. Rool emerge from behind a pile of crates, confused at the event that just occurred.
At Cranky's Cabin, Funky and Diddy report that the pirates are on the island, as well as that Donkey Kong is still missing. However, at that moment, Donkey Croc breaks into the cabin, steals the Crystal Coconut, and leaves with Funky's plane. It is at this moment that the three realize that DK believes himself to be a pirate.
Back on the ship, Skurvy is congratulating Donkey Croc for his impressive amount of loot, and then tells the crew that they are now going to bury all the treasure minus the Coconut. Unbeknownst to them, however, K. Rool, Klump, and Krusha are spying on them; upon finding out that DK believes he is a pirate, K. Rool begins to think of ways to use this turn of events to his advantage.
In the cabin, Cranky researches a cure for Donkey Kong's amnesia and finds it in one of his books, but then dashes off before telling it to Diddy and Funky.
Back on the ship, Donkey Croc is eating from a pile of bananas as the pirates debate what to do with him. After the brief discussion, Skurvy orders Donkey Croc to "go ashore and capture a scurvy sea-dog [who] goes by the name of... Donkey Kong!" Donkey Croc then heads off while Skurvy and his boys laugh at their trick.
Cranky meets up with Candy and explains the situation to her, as well as that they cannot find Donkey Kong. Cranky states that his book tells him there is only one thing they can do. Candy suggests hitting him on the head to restore his memory, but Cranky states that isn't that easy.
Soon, in the jungle, Donkey Croc loses his way and crosses paths with K. Rool, who acts like he has been looking for him. K. Rool then convinces the ape (in song) that he isn't Donkey Croc, but rather a relative of his named "Donkey Rool". Convinced of this, "Donkey Rool" tosses away his pirate gear and, after K. Rool asks him if he knows the location of the Crystal Coconut, volunteers to go fetch it for him.
On his way back to Skurvy's ship, Donkey Rool is stopped by Diddy and Funky (still thinking he is Donkey Croc), who try to restore his memory by having him recall past events (showing scenes from "Booty and the Beast" and "Orangutango", respectively). This doesn't work, but Donkey Rool lets them know that he is working for King K. Rool now, the news of which the two find even worse. Donkey Rool doesn't get much further, though, before he runs into Cranky, who tries to help him remember another event (showing a scene from "The Curse of Kongo Bongo"), which doesn't work either.
Cranky then has Candy come in, talking sweetly to Donkey Rool in an attempt to jog his memory. Donkey Rool, however, insults her by not recognizing her as "his old sweetie-pie" and hitting on her. Furiously, she knocks him into a nearby tree, causing some coconuts to drop on his head. After shaking his head, he asks "What did you hit me with, Cranky?" Cranky is angry at him, but Candy realizes that he called him by his name, though Donkey Kong does not think much of it (stating that he couldn't call him "something else" with her around). This sends the message that DK has regained his memory, but Cranky tells him that he has to get the Coconut back, and he comes up with an idea to accomplish this task.
A few minutes later, DK rushes up to the pirates, pretending to be Donkey Croc again, and tells them that K. Rool is on the loose with a band of killer crocs, and the pirates aren't safe. DK then takes the Coconut and says he will hide it for them, giving Skurvy a map that he, naturally, follows to an X. Then, as Donkey Rool, DK tells K. Rool that he has hidden the Coconut from the pirates, and gives him another map.
After returning the Coconut to the Cabin, Diddy reminds DK that the entire situation began all because Donkey Kong was careless with his banana peels. Donkey Kong then states he has learned his lesson and that he has put them where they belong, and Diddy asks where that is. At that moment, K. Rool and Skurvy cross paths while looking for the Coconut, and they insult each other before noticing a barrel at the end of the mine. Believing it to contain the Crystal Coconut, they both dash for it, but slip on some laid-out banana peels and fall onto the ground below by accident, taking the barrel with them, with the barrel revealing that there is nothing but bananas inside. When they come to, they both have amnesia and, thanks to the bananas all around them, believe they are both monkeys.
Booty and the Beast At Cranky's Cabin, Cranky is pacing about, saddened and complaining about how his life is so quiet when a cannonball flies into his house. Cranky is able to duck in time, while the projectile crashes behind him. Kaptain Skurvy then demands the Crystal Coconut, smoke around the cabin's entrance clearing to reveal him. Cranky is surprised to see that he is there, and Skurvy once again demands he give them the coconut, Skurvy's crew stepping out from behind him and Green Kroc threatening to slice him apart if he doesn't. Cranky states that he doesn't know what they are talking about, but Skurvy's parrot convinces the pirates that it is inside the object in the center of the room. Skurvy demands that he open it, though Cranky continues to state that he doesn't have it and tells the pirates to leave. However, this does not work, as the object opens, revealing the Crystal Coconut. Cranky still refuses to let him have it, and when Skurvy attempts to do so anyway Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong arrive. Skurvy attempts to charge them, but Donkey punches him, knocking him out. Green Kroc and Kutlass attempt to attack them, but they are apparently no match for the two, and Skurvy and the crew retreat.
Meanwhile, King K. Rool is viewing the Crystal Coconut from a telescope, which is soon after revealed to be attached to a barrel cannon with General Klump loaded into it. K. Rool fires, and Klump is sent flying into the cabin. He is able to grab the coconut before the Kongs notice, and is sent flying out of the cabin and back into the cannon via the bungee cord he is attached to. Excited that Klump was able to successfully complete his mission, K. Rool runs off with the cannon with Klump still loaded into it. The Kongs head outside and watch in disbelief.
At Bluster Barrelworks, Candy is busy working while Bluster continuously calls out to her. Annoyed, Candy finally asks what he wants. Bluster asks her who the "handsomest, bravest ape in all of Kongo Bongo" is, though she replies by saying it is Donkey Kong. During their conversation, however, the machinery in the barrelworks shuts down, and the two are surprised when K. Rool and Klump enter. Bluster hides behind Candy while she asks what he wants. K. Rool states that he is going to take over the factory, since he has the Crystal Coconut. Bluster immediately surrenders, and K. Rool has him reconfigure the factory to produce explosive barrels. Bluster refuses, but he gives in to K. Rool's demands when two Kritters with him point their Klap-Blasters at him. As the barrels are being produced, K. Rool relishes his victory as the mechanism that guarantees the barrel's quality continuously detonates them.
Over at Cranky's Cabin, Cranky is still distraught and tells DK and Diddy to get the Crystal Coconut back. Diddy asks how they are to do this, and Cranky states that he doesn't care how when they all hear explosions. Donkey Kong immediately figures out that the source is exploding barrels. Meanwhile, K. Rool is still watching barrels continue to explode as Bluster expresses his humiliation and sadness over the loss of the barrels. Bluster states that he cannot destroy another barrel, so K. Rool shoves him out of the way to do it himself. As he does this, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong arrive (though K. Rool does not recognize their presence at first). After the two exchange some banter (with Bluster sneaking away during this time), K. Rool presses various buttons, detonating more barrels on the conveyer belt and starting a chain reaction, causing the other barrels to explode. K. Rool and Klump use the opportunity to escape via mine cart. However, DK and Diddy chase after them in another one. During the chase, Bluster, who is in the mine cart directly behind K. Rool's, finds a Klap-Blaster, and threatens to fire if he isn't freed. Klump, however, tosses the Crystal Coconut at him, causing him to drop the blaster and fly out of the kart. K. Rool, however, scolds him for throwing the coconut at him, but upon noticing that DK and Diddy are still gaining on him, he fires the Klap-Blaster. The miniature Klaptraps make quick work of the mine cart, and K. Rool and Klump are able to escape. The Kongs are determined to head after him, but Bluster then shows up and reveals that he has the coconut.
Back at Cranky's Cabin, DK and Diddy present him with the Crystal Coconut, but Cranky continuously tells them to leave. Donkey and Diddy don't understand at first, but as soon as they are able to walk in, they find that Skurvy and his crew are inside. Skurvy demands that they put it down and has Kutlass retrieve it when Donkey Kong does so. The two Kongs then head off to once again retrieve the Crystal Coconut.
Back on Skurvy's ship, the pirates are celebrating their victory, and that with it, they will rule the "six seas" (with the parrot reminding Skurvy that there are seven). Above, Donkey and Diddy are searching for the pirate ship on Funky's plane. As soon as they sight it, Funky drops them, intent on having them land in the water; instead, they crash down upon the pirate ship as Funky flies off. Almost immediately after they land, Skurvy and his crew appear and capture the two Kongs. The crew imprison them with all but their heads inside barrels and Skurvy intent on dumping them overboard into "shark-infested waters." However, as soon as the pirates leave, Donkey Kong hears a voice. It turns out to be a giant Klaptrap. Donkey asks for Klaptrap to free them, but he cannot because he has no teeth. He then makes a deal with the Kongs: freedom in exchange for helping to get his teeth from the crow's nest. As soon as Klaptrap unlocks the barrels they were trapped in, Donkey Kong dives into the pile of bananas right next to him and eats them until he is satisfied.
Outside, Skurvy states that nothing will be able to stop him now when Donkey and Diddy break out of the room they were imprisoned in. Skurvy is surprised at first, but has his crew attack them. The two Kongs split up in response. Donkey Kong immediately punches out Green Kroc. However, Diddy is being chased by Kutlass. He chases him around the crow's nest until Klaptrap, who is standing there, tells Diddy to hurt him. Kutlass notices him and attempts to slice him, but instead succeeds in slicing a rope, which releases a weight; Klaptrap gets caught on the other end of the rope, and is flung up into the crow's nest. The two continue the chase, until Donkey Kong shows up and punches out Kutlass.
However, as soon as the two believe they have won, they remember that Skurvy is still there, who shows up with a cannon. He fires a cannonball at them, but it instead bounces off of the ship and flies up into the crow's nest. Some munching and slicing can be heard, and the cannonball falls to the ground, now eaten like an apple. Klaptrap then appears, with his teeth back in, and begins to eat the ship. Donkey and Diddy leave.
On a rock near the edge of Kongo Bongo, Skurvy and his two pirates can be seen. The two others are chanting until Skurvy tells them to shut up. Meanwhile, Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong are sitting on the nearby pier, relieved to have saved the coconut at last. However, Klaptrap then shows up, with Donkey Kong worried that he is still hungry. However, Klaptrap assures them that he isn't, but then winks at the audience and says, "yet," before laughing.
