Richard Horatio Edgar Wallace (April 1, 1875 – February 10, 1932) was an English writer.
Before he passed away at the age of 56, he wrote the very first draft for King Kong (1933). Many of his books and short stories were made into movies.
These included about 20 silent films, about 30 British films, another 47 British films made between 1960 and 1965 called Edgar Wallace Mysteries besides over 40 German language films that were dubbed into English.
