It was released in English dubbed and subtitled formats by VIZ Media.
The original Japanese ending theme "Yoake no Legend" ("Dawn of a Legend"), is performed by Kazukiyo Nishikiori, the voice of Terry Bogard. The song was given English lyrics for the North American release and retitled "Oh Angel", performed by Canadian singer Warren Stanyer.

Plot[]
A fight in Alexandria, Egypt[]

Cheng finds the leg piece.
The movie starts in the cave of Alexandria, Egypt, where the co-workers and Cheng manage to find the leg piece. Outside, a blue-haired co-worker communicates with Cheng, and after this, calls out to his friend, telling him that Cheng will bring up the artifact right away. The blonde co-worker gives him a thumbs up. He says that he can kick back and enjoy the good life when a shadow walks up to the truck. The man discovers that the man controlling the fire is Jamin, who is about to punch the truck's window, and the man tries to run, only to be hit by glass. The blue-haired co-worker then tries to shoot Jamin, but he manages to catch the bullet and throw it on the co-worker's forehead, thus spilling out the blood and the co-worker dies. Soldiers run and try to investigate the matter, and Jamin uses his power to destroy them.

Cheng runs away from Jamin and Panni.
After getting out of the cave, Cheng is shocked when he sees the military office burned. He is shocked and tries to run, only to run to a pink-haired woman, Panni, who jumps up and uses water boomerangs against him, only to hit the tanks that explode. Cheng manages to get in the jeep on time, but encounters a white-haired man, Hauer, whose hand is removed from his face, smiles sheepishly, and, as Cheng is about to drive, Hauer slices the jeep. But Cheng drives away from him in the nick of time, while Hauer jumps down and smiles evilly, right before turning to his friends.

Laocorn checks on himself, realizing that he has only three more pieces to go.
Cheng drives back home when a man named Laocorn Gaudeamus appears and destroys the jeep, while a shepherd watches the explosion from afar. Cheng crawls forward, but Laocorn stands in front of him and asks him to return the artifact, but Cheng refuses, and uses Bakurai-ho against him, but gets hit in the stomach by Laocorn. Jamin, Hauer, and Panni walk toward Laocorn, while Panni fixes the leg piece to Laocorn's leg. The three coins connect, and Laocorn is happy that only three more to go. He then jumps up, and, with his powers, he destroys the cave. Panni is impressed that Lord Laocorn is becoming more magnificent with each piece. Laocorn proclaims that the pieces are his and that when he possesses them all, he will become a God and laughs maliciously.

Joe calls out to them, telling that the reception is his and next time, they will have a wedding reception. Mai says:
- "Do you hear that, honey? And I'm not even engaged, am I?"
- ―Mai
as she elbow-punches Joe's stomach, and he opens his hand fan. Andy thinks where is Terry. Joe answers that Terry has called from the airport and said that he is running a little late. In the streets, a girl is running to safety. Three thugs are talking when a girl runs past them, shocking them. In the video game parlor, Terry plays a video game, with the little girl watching. The girl runs inside, while the masked monsters jump from roof to roof and see the girl. Terry loses, while the little girl states that her baby brother is better than him. Terry is about to leave when the girl accidentally runs into him. Terry asks if she's okay, to which she answers she is fine and she should have watched where she is going. She runs away, but is surrounded by the masked monsters, whose one masked monster gets hit by Terry's bag. Terry confronts them, stating that three big guys against one little girl just isn't fair. The girl decides to run to safety, while Terry manages to defeat them. During the battle, Terry wonders who are the "goons" and uses Crack Shot to defeat one. Finally, Terry says that she can come out, but the little girl states that if he is looking for her, she runs to the party. Terry decides to find her.
Kim versus Cyber Cheng[]

Kim's family and the Fatal Fury team.
At the party, the guests are enjoying. The girl walks toward Big Bear and asks if he can know about Terry. Big Bear states that he wished if he could say it is him, but he isn't, so he isn't here. The girl thinks for a while and thanks him before running. Andy, Joe, and Mai talk to Kim, who says that he also wants to see Joe if he is fine. Mai wonders what is keeping Terry, who... maybe he got lost or something? Joe answers that Terry is probably just way to make it dramatic entrance or something. Terry overhears this and greets them. Andy is overjoyed to see him.

Cyber Cheng crashes the party.
Terry also meets Kim, who tells him that he trained hard since they last met. He hopes if Terry could give him another match when a voice is heard, asking if he wants to fight. Andy asks what is wrong. Mai asks Andy what is he saying to the boy, while Andy answers that he is just quiet. Kim is shocked at the boy. He tells him to come here, which he did. Joe is amazed, asking if he has a kid. Mai asks the boy what is his name. Kim says that he is called "Dong Hwan" and says that he sometimes gets nervous around people he doesn't know when a voice calls him. It's a woman with a younger son, Jae Hoon. She says that she took her eyes off of her son for a second and he disappeared. Mai says that the woman is Mrs. Kaphwan, while Kim says that she is Myun, his wife. Myun says that it's such a pleasure to meet them and congratulates Joe. Mai tells Joe that Myun is taken, but Joe yells at her to shut up and stay out of it. Mai pleads Andy to save her, while Andy asks does he get them.

Kim defeats Cyber Cheng.
Suddenly, there is a frightening scream. Terry, Andy, Joe, Mai, Kim, his family, and everyone else see the appearance of Cyber Cheng, with a dead person in his hand. The girl is scared to look at Cyber Cheng, who stares at her. She pleads him not to hurt her, and is trapped by a dead person on her. She pleads for help. Terry knows this mask belongs to Cyber Cheng. Big Bear is about to defeat him, but Cyber Cheng uses his power ball of energy to defeat him. Terry, Andy, and Joe are ready to fight him, but Kim should handle this himself and says that it's time for his sons to see their father fight. He transforms and is about to defeat him just like Big Bear did, but is injured, much to the shock of Joe and Mai! He decides to help Kim, but Terry stops him, telling him to take a look at Kim's sons' eyes. Dong Hwan is brave, Myun is worried, but brave, and Jae Hoon cries. Kim is punched many times in the face by Cyber Cheng. Dong tells his father not to give up. Seeing this chance, Kim uses Hou'Ou Kyaku to defeat Cyber Cheng, which splits the mask apart! Everyone is cheering for him!

Sulia pleads with Terry to help her.
Joe and Terry notice that the mask that connected his face is Cheng Sinzan. He wonders what does he have to do with this, while a voice replies that it is because of the mask. Terry turns around to see a girl, who says:
- "I'm Sulia. Why I have come all the way to Japan is to find the man who defeated Wolfgang Krauser. To find "Terry Bogard"."
- ―Sulia
She pleads him to stop the villains from getting the armor, which, at first, Terry asks her if he can help her just like that. Andy asks her what does armor mean. Sulia doesn't want to explain and orders them to come to Rhodos Island. Terry agrees, while Andy, Joe, and Mai want to come too. Terry doesn't know how much Sulia will be obedient, but they will help her if they can, which Sulia happily thanks them. Terry wonders about the mysterious armor, masked men, Sulia, and Rhodos Island in the Mediterranean and wonders something big's about to happen and will see the storm through no matter what it takes.
The journey[]

The journey begins.
The journey starts on a plane, where Mai sits next to Andy, Joe sits alone in the front, and Terry sits next to Sulia. Sulia tells the story of Alexander the Great's life, and how he struck a friendship with Gaudeamus. As they arrive at a nearby cave by boat, she tells them that:
- "Alexander couldn't stop thinking about the power he'd seen, so he asked Gaudeamus to come to Babylon. And that's why Alexander came down with a mysterious illness and died."
- ―Sulia

Sulia heals Terry's cut on his arm.
She then continues:
- "The generals of Babylon, with such fear of Gaudeamus, they set a trap and burned him to death. But the armor that he wore, known as the Armor of Mars, survived the blaze without a scratch."
- ―Sulia
As they arrive near the painting, Terry asks what is this, while Sulia answers that it is Gaudeamus. She then tells them that:
- "The paintings here say that after Gaudeamus died, the armor itself came back to life, taking the form of Mars, the God of War! The city was engulfed in a terrible fire, and just when everything seemed hopeless, it said that four brave strangers appeared, bringing Mars to his knees in defeat. Afterward, the armor was broken up into six separate pieces, encased in stone, and buried. In order to prevent that terrible power from ever again resembling itself, the pieces of the armor were hidden in six different locations throughout Alexander's empire. My brother and I are direct descendants of Gaudeamus. After his death, it said our country was overthrown, and our family left to wander the Earth, that's when the legend was born. If a member of the cursed Gaudeamus bloodline were ever to find that armor, and wear all six pieces at the same time, the paintings here indicate that the power of Mars will be let loose in the world once more, making their wearer into a God!"
- ―Sulia
Sulia tells her friends that her brother, Laocorn, found half of the armor, but tearfully exclaims that he wants the power, but has inherited the curse. She cries while being so heartbroken over the loss of her twin. Suddenly, the cave begins to shake, and Terry manages to save her, but unfortunately, they were trapped in a dark place! Seeing a cut on Terry's arm, Sulia heals it with a red, glowing power, which shocks Terry. After it is healed, Sulia feels dizzy and almost faints, but Terry catches her. Just then, Andy, Joe, and Mai arrive to find them. They decide to find out more about Sulia's story.

The Fatal Fury team enter the secret passage.
Arriving near a waterfall, Sulia says:
- "The ingredients and inscriptions in this cave were done by my ancestors to pass on the legend of Gaudeamus to his descendants. And... this pendant has been handed down through countless generations."
- ―Sulia
She then puts her Gaudeamus pendant on a rectangle that presses down, the cave shaking, and the waterfall stopping to flow. They enter a secret passage through the waterfall underneath a small, squared hole. It leads to a room filled with paintings! Andy notices a painting of Hakkyokuseiken stance, and so does Terry, while Joe notices a painting of Krauser's stance. Joe states that it's the finishing move that he uses to put him in a hospital. Mai asks what this means, while Andy states that Gaudeamus is influencing both the Hakkyokuseiken and Stroheim schools of martial arts.

Andy decides to split the group into two.
Sulia introduces a map that her ancestors had put together that shows where the pieces of the Armor of Mars are. It is revealed that Sulia's older twin brother, Laocorn, has already located the three pieces hidden by Alexander's officers: in Macedonia, Thrace, and Egypt. It is then stated that the fourth and fifth pieces are in Baghdad, Iraq, and Antakya, Turkey. However, Sulia states that the location of the last piece is not shown on the map and states that if Laocorn manages to collect all six pieces, the curse of Gaudeamus will overtake him and his power will be beyond human. Terry comforts her, saying that they will save him. Andy decides to let the whole group split up, and Mai decides to go with him. However, Joe does not approve of this, but gladly, he decides to help Sulia. Terry decides to let Andy and Mai go to Baghdad, Iraq, and he, Joe, and Sulia would go to Antakya, Turkey. Sulia agrees to his plan.
The group splits up[]

The mayor thanks Laocorn.
In an office nearby, the mayor congratulates Laocorn, who is happy to help him out. The mayor then leaves with his assistant, leaving Laocorn to be in charge. In the elevator, Panni asks her boss if it is wise to invest so much money. Laocorn states that it's a smokescreen and states that if they make their lives indispensable to them, they will draw much less negative attention. He asks Panni if she has information on Sulia, to which Panni answers:
- "Yes. It appeared Sulia and her accomplices have split into two groups to search for the armor."
- ―Panni
Laocorn asks if it isn't convenient, and Panni answers "Yes, sir". She was then so worried about what Laocorn should do.

The secret room.
They then arrive at a secret room, where there is a throne so that Laocorn could sit, a painting on the wall, and some stairs for Laocorn to follow up to the throne. Inside, Hauer (who cleans his golden mask) and Jamin (who meditates) are there. Then, Panni orders them to split up so they could follow Sulia and her friends. She then states that:
- "When you see your chance, capture that armor."
- ―Panni
Hauer states that they face another bunch of unworthy opponents, to which Panni states that Terry (who Panni calls "Terry Bogard") has defeated Krauser. Hauer mentions that even Achilles has a heel, and, while holding up his golden mask, he states that Krauser had no spirit. Jamin overhears this. Hauer also states that Jamin doesn't care much for his style and says intelligently:
- "Fight fair and square. Don't kick them when they're down. Hmph, that's your way, isn't it?"
- ―Hauer

Laocorn tells Hauer and Jamin to find the Armor, and if anyone gets in their way, they should crush them.
He then says that he is different and that he uses any means possible. Again, he implies intelligently that:
- "Victory is everything. A man with a weak spirit is no menace."
- ―Hauer
However, Laocorn dismisses Hauer, who is shocked while looking at Laocorn. Jamin and Panni, who disagree with Laocorn's new ways, also look at him. Laocorn then says:
- "Jamin, Hauer, leave right now and go and get me that armor. And if anyone should get in your way, crush them."
- ―Laocorn
Jamin, Hauer, and Panni say: "Yes, sir".
Rest and relaxation in Antakya, Turkey[]

Sulia shows kindness towards Terry.
Residing in an apartment nearby, Terry takes out money to pay when a photo falls out of his pocket. Sulia notices it, picking it up to look at a photo of Lily McGuire, but returns it to Terry. He then suggests going to eat, to which Sulia looks at him surprisingly.

Sulia feels sorry for Terry after she hears that Lily has died.
In a restaurant, Terry, Joe, and Sulia are eating dinner when she calls the men "really amazing". Joe then asks Terry what the game plan is, to which Terry answers that the first thing to do is to check out the library, which makes Joe frustrated. Terry and Joe are talking about money and buying when Sulia asks Terry if he has a girlfriend, to which he answers no. She then asks him who is the girl in the photo, to which Terry sadly answers that Lily has died. This shocks Sulia, who apologizes.

"Even if it's just to be hurt again, you've got to rejoin the living and allow me to die."
In the bedroom, Terry is looking at the photo, seeing how much he is thinking about her every day. Lily's spirit appears and tells him not to blame himself in the past. Approaching him, she also tells him that even if it is just to be hurt again, he will rejoin the living and allow her to die before disappearing. This makes Terry sad and lonely.

Sulia wants to know how sorry she feels for Terry.
Terry hears a knock on the door and is surprised to see Sulia standing in front of the room. He asks her what has happened, to which Sulia replies:
- "What I've said... before... I want you to know how sorry I am. Oh Terry, I wasn't thinking about your feelings! I just... wanted... to find out a bit more about you."
- ―Sulia
Surprised, Terry comforts her, asking if she can ask all the questions she wants. They wish each other good night.
In the library[]

Sulia reveals that after Alexander the Great's death, General Laomedon sealed off an underground room in his palace.
The next morning, inside the library, while trying to find the Armor of Mars, Sulia tells Terry and Joe that after Alexander died, General Laomedon seals off an underground room in his palace, which no one is allowed to enter. Taking out the book and the map of Turkey, Sulia says that if she compares them into two, it will appear that there is a police station built on top. Joe then threw the newspaper on the table, to which Terry reads: "Police Station Exploded". Sulia then reveals to Terry and Joe that she and Laocorn are twins sometimes she can tell what he is feeling. From the moment Laocorn found the first piece, Sulia knew that she felt it from the second and third pieces too, and that's how she knows that he hasn't found the fourth piece yet.

Joe is asked to find Andy and Mai.
Reading the article, Terry says that 900 years ago, the crusaders had raided the ruins, taking the piece of armor. Joe is frustrated, but is told to think of the cave in Rhodes and Krauser's finishing move. Sulia thought that the House of Stroheim had found a piece. Terry then asks Sulia if they should go to Stroheim Castle, to which she agrees. Joe yells out excitedly, but is told to be quiet because they're in the library. Joe is asked to find Andy and Mai, to which he is asked for an airfare.
In a building, Jamin is talking to someone on the phone.
At the airport[]

Joe reveals to Terry that Sulia has a crush on him.
Standing in front of the airport, Terry tells Joe that he and Sulia should go to Stroheim Castle, while Joe should say hi to Andy and Mai for him. Being told to come here, Joe tells Terry that Sulia is really sweet on him, to which Terry complains that Sulia is just a kid, which shocks and angers Sulia. However, Sulia left as she says that she is just a kid. Terry runs off to catch up with her.

Sulia and Terry.
Terry runs to Sulia, saying that he is trying to say something to make Joe shut up, to which Sulia embraces his arm and drags him to the plane.
Mai and Andy in Baghdad, Iraq[]

Mai talks to Andy.
In Baghdad, Iraq, in a nearby hotel, Mai takes a shower, when she thinks that she has never slept in the same room with a boy since elementary school. Meanwhile, in a bedroom, Andy waits for Mai when she arrives in a purple bathing robe with light purple lines, with cats all over her robe since she loves cats when she was little. She asks what he is doing, and he answers that he is thinking they can't sleep in the same bed. Mai reassures him, saying that nothing wakes her once she is asleep. She tries to sleep, but is unable. She watches as Andy does push-ups. Andy tells Mai that he will work out a bit, then he will crash on the couch, and warns her not to wait up until he finishes. Mai agrees and wishes him a good night. Andy sighs in relief and continues to do push-ups while Mai is asleep during the night.
Joe, Mai, and Andy[]

Andy reveals to Mai that the contents were stolen and taken back to China by Genghis Khan when he was fighting in the west.
At the museum, while looking at the empty box, Andy and Mai thought that when Genghis Khan is fighting in the west, he has stolen the contents and taken back to China. Andy thinks that Laocorn has been here and that he probably realizes its futile to track the armor any further. Joe has arrived to meet his friends when Mai shows him the box.

Mai reveals that Jubei and Tung went way, way back.
Sitting outside on the statue, Andy tells Joe that the crusaders, who have taken the armor, have come from Europe. He also tells Joe that the House of Stroheim got the armor when they have learned the fighting style. Joe says that Terry and Sulia are already on their way to Germany. Mai says that Terry is a genius, but Joe tells her that it is him. Andy tells Joe and Mai that the cave paintings have illustrated the moves from the Hakkyokuseiken school and that a piece of the armor made its way there as well. Mai also tells Andy that Master Jubei and Master Tung have gone way back, so she goes off to call the Yamada dojo.

Mai tells the bad news to Andy and Joe.
While Mai speaks with the Yamada dojo on the phone, Joe asks Andy if he is in the same room with her and uses his hand as a screw to make fun of Andy. Feeling pain in his head, Andy orders his friend to quit it. Mai then tells Andy and Joe that Jubei has disappeared three days ago, shocking them.
Laocorn and Panni[]

Laocorn decides to meet Terry.
Back at the office, Laocorn and Panni were seen on the balcony of the office where Laocorn asks Panni if the fourth and fifth pieces were in China and Germany, respectively. Laocorn states that he will go to Germany as well, which, at first, displeases Panni, who said:
- "You can't be serious, my lord! There's no need for your personal intervention. Surely Jamin will be able to..."
- ―Panni
Laocorn interrupts her by asking her if the man is Terry Bogard who accompanies Sulia. Panni replies that she did say the man accompanying Sulia was Terry Bogard. Laocorn states that his sister has taken an interest in him, which amuses Panni, who asks him how he can know that. Laocorn, while putting down the coffee, says that he has his little ways and knows for example that Terry steals his sister's heart. He is ready to meet him.
A fierce battle in Frankfurt, Germany[]

Terry and Jamin fight.
In Frankfurt, Germany, at night, Terry is driving a motorcycle, with Sulia by his side. Suddenly, she feels something horrible: one of the red powers almost strikes the couple, who dodge, but it ends up destroying the truck. More red powers shoot at them, who also dodge, but one of the powers hits the motorcycle. They run off to a tunnel, but an explosion intervenes. Terry notices a car falling on top of them, but dodges it while dive-saving Sulia. They notice Jamin, with whom Terry has fought, and Terry thinks that Jamin is as tough as Krauser. Terry defeats him with Burn Knuckle and runs off to the elevator, alongside Sulia.

Sulia stands up to Laocorn.
Seeing them leave, Jamin uses his power to destroy it. Terry and Sulia jump up when Terry's injuries are revealed due to an elevator debris. After getting up on the roofs, they hear a clap. It is someone who asks Terry to join him in his quest. It's Sulia's older twin brother, Laocorn! Terry rejects Laocorn's orders by finding the Armor of Mars, or returning Sulia to him. Hearing that Terry is refusing orders, Laocorn attacks him by punching his chin and kicking him to Jamin! Before Laocorn can go with his younger twin sister, Sulia, Terry frees himself and uses Power Wave against Jamin, who uses Earth Quaker against Terry. Both attacks counter-attack one another, and Terry is attacked; suffering a cut on both his muscle and knee, and is sent backwards!

Sulia carries Terry to the sewers.
Laocorn then uses his power to destroy Terry, but Sulia runs in front of him, stopping the attack! He stops the attack on Sulia, and asks her to come to his side. Sulia refuses to believe that Laocorn is her brother, and stands up to him, saying:
- "I don't know who you are... but if you really were my brother, you wouldn't do such terrible things! YOU'RE NOTHING BUT A... NOTHING BUT A DEVIL!''"
- ―Sulia
Laocorn orders Sulia to stop the little outbursts, because it will make him kill her friend. Terry orders Sulia to move before Laocorn could use his power. Sulia agrees and Terry uses Power Geyser to attack both Laocorn and Jamin, and then, there was a big explosion! The people, who has seen the battle, run away from the explosion, and Terry and Sulia fall into the water. From the exploded building, both Laocorn and Jamin wonder if they meet Terry and Sulia once again. Sulia carries her injured boyfriend to the sewers to try her best to escape from the enemies.
Mai's performance[]

The King of Dancing night club is open.
In Tokyo, Japan, Duck King opens the very brand new night club called "King of Dancing". Every lady and every gentleman is invited to have a big fun at the nightclub. Mai and Andy arrive and Mai sees the nightclub "cool", while Andy wonders why Master Jubei has asked them to come there. Mai exclaims that she is on fire before going to Andy to ask him for a dance. Andy mishears her and asks her if they should split up and look around, not before Richard Meyer appears to greet Andy.

Andy notices Reiko instead of Mai.
Richard notices Mai and asks who is the pretty lady. Andy decides to introduce Mai, but instead of Mai, Andy is shocked to find Reiko, who dresses up as Nakoruru and asks him for a dance. Richard leaves, leaving them to have fun. Andy calls out to him, saying that she's not the one who is his true love when Jubei Yamada appears. Andy is shocked to find him here, while Jubei introduces his ladies: Miss Banana, Miss Tomato, Miss Strawberry, Miss Papaya, Miss Raspberry, and Miss Muscat. He throws woods, while one is stopped by Andy, who asks him for a talk. Jubei says that they should talk later, enraging Andy.

Mai performs gracefully.
Suddenly, the lights go out and Andy, Jubei, and everyone else notice this. Duck King calls out to them:
- "Hi, hipsters! What up? We got us a sweet, young ninja babe from all the way to Japan just to give us a show will never forget!"
- ―Duck King
Andy is sure that Mai is up to something. When the performance begins, an umbrella appears and confetti starts falling. From beneath the umbrella, here is Mai; dressed in a black bra, red jacket with yellow lines, and ballet shoes. She strikes two poses, shocking everyone, including Andy, who is flabbergasted! Mai dances beautifully, stunning everyone with amazement! And Mai also strikes one more pose to give them a good dancing show. Duck King watches Mai having a good dancing show, and is about to drink the juice when a bouquet of pink flowers falls on top of the DJ disc. At the entrance to the DJ room, Billy Kane is there, dressed in a black outfit. Billy calls the nightclub a "nice place". Duck King then thanks him and asks him if he could enjoy the performance. Billy states that he will.

Andy and Billy meet once again.
Meanwhile, Jubei calls out to Mai, while Andy drags him to tell him about the armor, but Jubei keeps talking. Finally fed up with his master's behavior, Andy orders Jubei to speak up. Jubei asks Mai for a dance, but Mai does not want to listen to a pervert while she keeps dancing for her performance. Jubei is then dragged again by Andy, who tells him to try to remember. Jubei says that the piece of the armor is in Ryu-o Temple in China. Andy thinks to himself, thinking of Ryu-o Temple when Billy appears, confronting him.

Mai meets Hauer.
One of the henchmen, Ripper, throws a staff for Billy. Richard goes to Billy and tells him it's enough. As Andy and Billy are ready for hand-to-hand combat, a shadow appears on the glass. Billy uses the staff to tap the glass, while Andy jumps away from it. Then, as it shatters, the shadow's form is revealed to be Hauer, who holds a glass of red wine! This confrontation stops Mai's performance and is shocked to find out what is going on. Everyone, including Duck King, see Hauer, who has just arrived to see Mai's best performance. Jubei asks Andy if Hauer is the one who collects the armor, while Andy states he is. Hauer is disappointed when Mai's performance was interrupted and thinks Andy and Billy are the ones who interrupted it. He drinks the red wine and jumps up, using his wind powers to shatter the glass. Billy notices this and swears "Son of a bitch!", while Andy calls out Mai's name. Hauer is then seen behind Mai and calls her exquisite when Mai hears a voice behind her and turns around to see him. Andy yells out to Mai to get away when Hauer notices and sees Mai as a "lovely name" and asks her if Andy is her boyfriend.

Jubei thinks that Hauer is not the lone ranger.
Mai asks Hauer who he is, sneaking up on her like that. Noticing his mask, she asks him if he could let her see his face, which he does by taking off his mask. Mai calls him a babe, but tells him that he is not as cute as Andy. This enrages Hauer, who sees her jumping down to Andy, Duck King, Richard, and Jubei, and she shows him a tongue as a joke. Hauer, enraged, puts his mask back on and tells Andy that the next time they meet, they will see who is the stronger, and the most beautiful. He then disappears with a strong gust of wind, accidentally destroying the nightclub. Duck King is shocked, while Billy and his henchmen, Ripper and Hopper, went away. Andy realizes who is the man in the mask. Jubei answers:
- "One thing's for sure. He's not the lone ranger. And eaten."
- ―Jubei
and warns Andy to stay sharp, to which Andy agrees and looks up at the night sky.
Geese and Billy[]

The destroyed forest.
In a forest, Geese has trained heavily and asks Billy if he is saying about the man who can control the wind. Billy answers that Hauer has a shine on Andy, but Geese reprimands him not to interrupt his training with meaningless trivia, to which Billy says that it won't happen again. Geese then uses Raging Storm that destroys the entire forest. Seeing the scar on his chest, Geese says that as long as his wound is unhealed, his power will grow. Billy is shocked, thinking that his boss is getting stronger, while Geese calls out Terry's name.
Terry's dream and Sulia's past[]

Terry's dream.
In a church nearby, Sulia tries to heal him, but it's no use. Suddenly, she notices the door opening and closing. Feeling hopeless, Sulia has an idea: she takes off her outfit instead of her shoes and lays on top of him to channel her healing powers to heal him. Terry begins dreaming of Lily McGuire, who is throwing a rose, and also helping children. After realizing that the wine was poisoned, Terry and Lily kiss. In the end, Lily gets killed by Geese's Reppuken blast and dies in Terry's arms. Towards the end, Lily is replaced by Sulia and he mourns her death.

A flashback of how Laocorn is succumbed to the Armor of Mars.
When Terry wakes up, he is amazed to find Sulia on top of him. It is stated that she couldn't move and asks him if he can stay like this for a while, to which he agrees. Seeing that Sulia begins to shiver, Terry picks up his vest from his head and covers her with it.

Terry and Sulia's relationship blossoms into romance.
After being covered with a vest, Sulia tells him about her childhood:
- "Our father was an archaeologist and the ruins of Rhodes Island with the biggest discovery of his career. Our mother died right after we were born, and Father had to bring us up by himself, in between his studies, of course."
- ―Sulia
She also tells him about the colleague that caused the death of their father, and Laocorn being succumbed to the Armor of Mars while trying to protect her. After hearing her past, Terry tells her that as a fighter, he always looks forward to challenging those stronger than himself, but states that it's different and tells her:
- "I want to protect you... from anything that's ever hurt you before, Sulia."
- ―Terry
Sulia agrees and closes her eyes, while Terry kisses her eyelash; their budding relationship starting to approve. The sun rises.
A grueling battle in Hebei Province, China[]

Mai defeats Hauer.
In Hebei Province, Mai impatiently waits for Andy as he enters a temple, one of the pieces of armor next to be handed over to him by the priests. Suddenly, Mai feels a gentle wind blow: she realizes it was Hauer, the one she had met last night. Then, one of Hauer's powers slices Mai's outfit, scaring her and she jumps up, revealing her kunoichi outfit. Hauer smiles, while Mai laughs and confronts him about the armor, then he asks what if he were, and finally, Mai tells him that she of the Shiranui school must teach him a lesson and uses Kacho-sen against him, kicks him through his feet, and uses Ryuen Bu against him, leading to her winning the one-round victory.

Mai before she is taken hostage by Hauer.
Mai strikes a pose and yells out that she is number one... but Hauer rises and absorbs the smoke, trembling Mai as she jumps away from the smoke. However, the smoke knocks out Mai, alerting Andy as he hears the noise coming from outside. He rushes outside as she mumbles upon her defeat. Hauer walks out from the smoke and toward her, while Mai opens her eyes and gasps at the sight of Hauer, who smiles at her and the scene blackens.

Andy listens to what Hauer has said in exchange for Mai's freedom.
As Andy walks down with a box in one hand, he sees Hauer grabbing Mai's chin underneath with one hand, and Hauer also grabs Mai's cloth in the other hand. Andy walks toward them and calls out Mai's name in worry while Hauer tells him one false move and Mai will become most unhappy. Andy, angered, calls him "Bastard", as Hauer notices that the leg armor was in the box. He tells him to put it on the ground and move away. Mai frees herself and cries out not to do it, but Hauer grabs her by her chin underneath again. Andy says that Hauer will not hurt Mai if he does that.

Hauer reveals his feelings for Mai.
Andy does what Hauer said, he jumps down and says it was obliging of him as Andy gets angry over what happened. As Hauer kneels to take the box, he uses Zan Ei Ken to defeat Hauer and save Mai. But, suddenly, it makes Mai gasp, Andy gets sliced three times, which sends him backward and into a wall. They are ready for an upcoming battlefield. Desperate, Mai tries to run to Andy, but, even though Hauer sees her, he grabs her and taunts Andy for his weakness and for losing the strength to stand. Taunting Andy, Hauer tells him:
- "Losing a loved one hurts at first, darling."
- ―Hauer
as Andy struggles with whether he listens to him or not. He gasps when he sees Hauer turning to Mai, smiling at her, and kissing her as Mai closes her mouth to prevent him from doing this. Mai cries out:
- "No..."
- ―Mai
angering Andy.

Mai checks on Andy, who is defeated by Hauer.
Furious that he couldn't save her, Andy charges toward the traitor and he yells furiously at him to stop. Hauer turns to Andy, then frees Mai, and uses Choshinku Zan, knocking him unconscious, and Mai watches him in horror. After a fight, it is raining, Hauer is gone, and Mai stares at an unconscious Andy. She flicks her defeated boyfriend's hair as Andy defeatedly says Mai's name. In a really sad way, Mai cries out Andy's name in sadness.
Panni versus Laurence Blood[]

Panni confronts Laurence.
It is a dark and stormy weather. Panni arrives at Stroheim Castle. While there, she hides as she sees Laurence Blood seeing a portrait. A voice welcomes him to Stroheim Castle. There is Sebastian, the Stroheims' butler. Laurence still can't believe the manner of his Lord Krauser's demise. Panni hears them talking about Krauser and looks everywhere for the breastplate. She found one portrait that is named Richard Stroheim. She begins to read:
- "Third generation lord: Richard Stroheim. Born in the year 1075, died during the crusades in the year 1130."
- ―Panni
She states that this is where they have been hiding it. Noticing the voice coming from distance, Laurence asks who is there. Panni comes out and confronts him by saying:
- "No one you fools would ever have heard of. Do me a favor and hand over the breastplate!"
- ―Panni
Angered, Laurence transforms to fight Panni.

Panni controls water.
During the battle, Panni managed to dodge Laurence's Bloody Flash, but her red armor almost ripped. Panni looks at it worriedly before turning to him with an evil smile on her face. She summons the water to form a barrier. Laurence uses Bloody Spin to defeat Panni, but is knocked down. Then, with her hydrokinetic powers, she orders the water to rise and charge toward Laurence, which he is sent into a wall. Proud at her victory, Panni confronts Sebastian and asks him where the breastplate is.
Sulia senses Laocorn's presence[]

Sulia senses that Laocorn has the fourth and fifth pieces.
Arriving at Stroheim Castle, Joe enters to find out that someone has done that and encounters Sebastian, unconscious and defeated. Terry and Sulia also arrive. Terry tries to apologize, but Sulia tells him that she is the one who should apologize, when suddenly, she screams out in agony as she senses that Laocorn is charging up with the fourth and fifth pieces before collapsing to the floor.

Laocorn's new evil plan is revealed.
Back at the secret room, Laocorn has finished charging up and decides to find the mask, but Panni tells him that she, Hauer, and Jamin have no leads. Being a thinkable person, Laocorn says of an incredible idea:
- "The key must be hidden in that pendant my dear sister took with her when she left me. I want the three of you to go and fetch her and the pendant for me. Allow nothing to stand in your way. Once I have all the six pieces of the armor, we can begin to build the world covered only by the limits of our imagination!"
- ―Laocorn
The final piece is revealed[]

Sulia sees the hidden mural.
Back in the secret passage, Sulia apologizes and blames herself, but Terry reassures her that they're here. While complaining, Joe accidentally reveals the hidden mural, to which Sulia takes out the circle from her pendant and... guess where the last piece of armor is hiding? Of course! The Dead Sea, in Israel.

Panni, Hauer, and Jamin decide to do as they're told and fetch Sulia.
On the cliff washed up by water, Panni states that Sulia and her accomplices are on their way to Israel. Hauer states that this is where the last piece of the armor was, while Jamin states that he does not think this battle is necessary. Panni says that those are Laocorn's orders and have fought this far, fighting for the ideals he's proposed. Hauer says that maybe she does, but has no interest in armor or ideals. Angrily, Panni yells out Hauer's name, prompting Jamin to be silent and states why Laocorn is so obsessed with finding the Armor of Mars and states that true strength is found in holding one's fighting abilities. Panni states that Laocorn's power is becoming far more than human. She decides to report in and says:
- "I suggest we do as we're told, and fetch him his precious Sulia. Beyond that, everything is in Lord Laocorn's hands."
- ―Panni
Battle at the hotel[]

Mai blushes as she hears Sulia ask if everything goes well with Andy.

Sulia, shocked at hearing Mai say that Terry is gentle to her.
In Jerusalem, Israel, Mai and Sulia sit by the pool, talking about relationships. Meanwhile, Andy trains in the woods, still upset that he is defeated by Hauer. Back at the pool, Sulia is shocked when she learned that Hauer kissed Mai, who tells her:
- "I just pretended to let him kiss me! You don't think I'd actually let some stranger kiss these sweet, red lips of mine. A modern ninja girl's got more control than that!"
- ―Mai
She then tells Sulia about Lily, who is killed a year ago and also tells her that any girl Terry falls for is doomed and thinks he can never fall in love again. Sulia understands Mai and thinks that Terry likes Lily. Mai then splashes Sulia, telling her that:
- "If you fall in love with a wolf, Sulia, you better start running with the pack, or else you just get left behind! Let's give them a fight!"
- ―Mai
Sulia agrees.

Mai tries to warn Sulia.
Meanwhile, Terry and Joe watch the girls having fun when suddenly, they start to lose oxygen and fall unconscious. As Mai and Sulia are about to leave the pool, the water rises, startling both of the girls. Then it whirls and forms a whirlpool, which Panni rises up and then tries to kill them, but Mai intervenes by pushing Sulia away and throwing Panni from the fence and through the outdoors, making her sit like a cat. She then calls out to the Bogard brothers, but a voice is heard, telling her not to waste her breath. This voice is revealed to be Hauer, who is outside with Jamin, who is holding Terry and Joe unconscious. Hauer then tells her that if she gives Sulia to them, they will leave her be. As Mai is ready to fight him, Sulia tearfully says that she will do whatever they want and that they do not want to hurt anyone. Mai tries to warn Sulia, claiming that she doesn't want to trust them, but Sulia says that she will not worry about herself and goes to them. Then she tells Mai that she will give Terry a message for her. Stopped, Sulia says to Hauer that if they do anything to them, she will kill herself. Hauer says that there is no need for melodrama and asks Jamin to return Sulia to Laocorn. Jamin agrees and disappears with Sulia into the night and to Lord Laocorn.

Panni chokes Mai.
As Jamin disappears with Sulia, Hauer decides to have a little fun at Mai's expense by "ordering Panni to capture Mai", which she does by appearing behind Mai, and capturing her by choking her with one hand, making her unable to breathe, and the other on Mai's hair, surprising Mai. Panni calls her a "pretty, pretty ninja girl" and says that it's such a pity she should leave them. Hauer is ready to prepare his power, but Andy arrives on time to save Mai, who throws Panni and collapses to her knees, coughing.

Andy witnesses Mai kill Panni in front of his eyes.
Andy battles both individuals alone, and crushes Hauer's face, breaking his mask. After Hauer falls to the ground, Panni charges toward him and is about to kill him, but Mai uses Kacho-sen to strike her in the back, shocking Andy. Mai then transforms and uses Chou Hissatsu Shinobi-Bachi to kill Panni, while Andy watches her in surprise.

Mai and Andy kiss.
After Mai defeats Panni, Hauer jumps up, ready to kill Andy, but Andy slaps him to the ground, and strikes a pose. Hauer then tries to get up, but coughs up blood and dies from his injuries.
Mai asks Andy if Hauer is dead, but Andy never says anything; however, he smiles at her and apologizes for being late. Mai shyly tries to apologize, but Andy warmly embraces her and sternly warns her not to say anything. They finally stare at each other's eyes and finally decide to be together for the rest of their lives by embracing and kissing each other.
Sulia intervenes[]

Laocorn is thankful for Sulia for helping him find the last piece of armor.
Awakening in a helicopter, Sulia encounters Laocorn, who thanks his sister for helping him find the last piece. He also says that Jamin is successful for bringing Sulia to him and that the last piece of the armor is his. Sulia is shocked.

Sulia feels guilty after slapping away the pendant.
After arriving at the island, Jamin shows Sulia the pendant, but she slaps it out, wrecking herself in guilt. As Terry, Andy, Joe, and Mai are driving towards the island, Laocorn uses his powers to create the temple where the last piece of armor is supposed to be in here. As they arrive, Terry is about to reach the temple, but are stopped by the goons. While his friends deal with the goons, Terry should go and rescue Sulia as he defeats a few.

Jamin tells Terry that if he lives, he will be the one to save Laocorn.
Terry runs towards the entrance and meets up with Jamin. Starting the battle, they use Burn Knuckle and Boost Knuckle, but struggle to fight to the finish... until Jamin gives up and gets slammed on the wall. Terry asks why he gives up, to which Jamin answers before dying:
- "With that much power out there... we were both going to die. If... If one of us is going to live, it should be the one who can... save Laocorn. Terry Bogard, you are the one who can save him. You must defeat him for Sulia's sake."
- ―Jamin
Terry agrees as he mourns his death.

Laocorn reveals his true intentions to Sulia.
In the temple, Laocorn takes the crown and looks at it, but is stopped by Sulia, who tells him that should the crown touch him, she will lose him forever. During an argument, Laocorn tells her that the countries and cultures were built upon the history of conquest, which Sulia states that she will let him get revenge and asks him that what he is going to do when someone wants revenge against him.

Laocorn as a God.
Terry has arrived to save Sulia from Laocorn, who is about to crown himself. But it is too late! Laocorn starts to transform and the powers of Mars are activating! The sea begins to rage and the soldiers, the pilot and his friend are sensing the dark energy from the inside! Now as God Laocorn, he uses his powers to defeat Terry, only to strike him so hard in the back that Terry coughs up blood, shocking Sulia! Terry then uses Rising Tackle, but only ends up getting his foot grabbed and is thrown on the wall, badly hurt! God Laocorn then says:
- "It's sad to say, but humans have their limitations. All they try and build up their bodies raise their consciousness, but they only go so far. You must have that personal understanding of that right now. I, however, have transcended humanity! I, Laocorn, have become a God!"
- ―God Laocorn
He then uses his powers to defeat him once and for all, but a power stops him.
The final battle[]

Terry is recovered.
Andy has arrived, along with Mai and Joe, to defeat the enemy. While Mai should go and free Sulia, Andy and Joe try to defeat God Laocorn, but are no match for him, unfortunately. Andy then uses Kuuha Dan to defeat God Laocorn, only to backflip away and use Chou Reppa Dan, but is flown backwards. God Laocorn then flies towards Andy to finish him off, but is stopped by Joe's hurricane. Meanwhile, Terry recovers, seeing Mai and Sulia. Mai is ready to go fight off God Laocorn, but Terry stops her, telling her to take Sulia and get out of here before telling her that he will return her brother back to her.

Mai tells Sulia that she will believe in Terry.
Terry arrives to fight God Laocorn, much to Joe and Andy's amazement! The group, now reformed, decides to fight the enemy. Outside, Mai tells Sulia to believe in Terry before running off to help her friends. Sad that Mai has left her alone, Sulia thinks about Laocorn as she starts to cry.

Andy saves Mai.
Meanwhile, Mai has arrived to use Chou Hissatsu Shinobi-Bachi to fight God Laocorn, who kicks her. Andy saves her before getting hit in the pericardium. Mai tells him that they're a team and tells him not to get killed on her, to which Andy agrees. God Laocorn has arrived to finish them off, while Andy uses his to fight him, but it's reflected and God Laocorn's arm begins to electrocute! Joe then uses Screw Upper to finally defeat God Laocorn before fainting.

Sulia commits suicide.
Entering with a bleeding arm, Sulia tells God Laocorn that he is not the only descendant of Gaudeamus and that the Armor of Mars has strengthened their bond. She is then about to stab herself, but is saved by Terry, ending up destroying his shirt! In revenge, Sulia stabs herself in the breast (and causing so much pain to the enemy), but ends up collapsing and Terry catches her. She then tells him to strike God Laocorn through the breastplate, to which Terry refuses at first, but is told that if he loves her, he will do it.

Terry defeats God Laocorn.
Confronting God Laocorn, Terry uses Burn Knuckle to finally defeat the enemy, ending the curse of Gaudeamus. Laocorn is back to normal as he falls to his knees, exhausted. Terry runs back to Sulia and asks if it is enough, to which she nods. Andy, Joe, and Mai have arrived. Laocorn, while returning back to normal, realizes what he has done and blames himself. Sulia tearfully expresses her gratitude to her friends before confessing her love to Terry, only to share a kiss with him before dying.

Tragedy ensues as Sulia dies.
All hopes are lost after Sulia's death. Suddenly, the four gold coins start to melt and reanimate, reawakening Mars! Andy thinks that Mars is the true God of War, while Laocorn realizes that Gaudeamus is using him to get the armor before sacrificing himself to save Andy and Mai. Starting to vaporize, Laocorn shouts Sulia's name and is never seen again.

Laocorn is vaporized.
Andy then tells Joe to take Mai and Terry and get out of here, but Joe refuses, saying that if they die, they will die together. Terry uses Sulia's life force to defeat Mars. Joe tries to help, but Andy stops him, saying that they will have to let Terry handle this and that the only thing that can defeat Mars is a more powerful energy than itself. Seeing Terry stabbed, the team tries to reach him, but Mars separates them! The sea is still raging. Hearing Sulia's voice, Terry uses one final power to finally dissipate Mars!

Terry defeats Mars.
Finally, Mars is killed and Terry, Andy, Joe, and Mai manage to escape from the destroyed temple. It is a sunny day and the sea calms itself down.

Peace is restored once again.
Mai asks if it's all over, which Andy replies it is. They manage to return home. Terry stops and throws his cap into the air. The movie ends with the song "Oh Angel", which appears in the end credits.

SNK references[]
- The Neo-Geo Land Sports Amusement, where Terry runs into Sulia, is based on a real arcade of the same name that was located in Osaka, also home to SNK's original office. The same building can be seen in the backgrounds of various King of Fighters games.
- The SNK company logo appears multiple times in the film. Most notable is its presence in the middle of the ring where Joe and Hwa have their match at the beginning of the film, and on the grill of an 18-wheeler that Terry's motorcycle crashes into in Germany.
Cameo appearances[]
- Reiko Chiba, a singer and voice actress who plays Nakoruru in Samurai Shodown: The Motion Picture, has two speaking roles in the original Japanese version of the film.
- The first is right after Joe's bout with Hwa Jai in which she congratulates him. He instantly recognizes her as "THAT Reiko Chiba". In the English version of the same scene, Reiko's character is not named and Joe simply asks if it is "really her".
- The second is during a scene in Duck King's "King of Dancing" nightclub, when Reiko dresses up as Nakoruru and switches places with Mai, who has disappeared in order to get ready for a surprise stage performance. This can be considered somewhat of a double in-joke, as Reiko once performed an image song for Mai on the Arranged Sound Track to Fatal Fury Special.
Reception[]
The film received positive reviews from critics in the 1990s. In 1997, Max Autohead of Hyper magazine gave it a highly positive review, scoring it 10 out of 10 and calling it "without a doubt the best animated martial arts slug fest movie I have seen". In 1998, Shidoshi of GameFan magazine gave it a B+ rating and considered it the best game-based anime to date, better than adaptations of Street Fighter and Samurai Shodown.
In his review for Anime News Network's "Shelf Life" column, Bamboo Dong called Discotek Media's release of the film "one of the most enjoyable, and the easiest to consume as a standalone property". Dong praised the storyline and character designs, and would later go on to say "those who are into this kind of thing will be pleased with how it's presented, and how lovingly it's been preserved". Conversely, Raphael See of THEM Anime Reviews gave the film two out of five stars. She praised the film's artwork, but criticized the storyline, saying it "wasn't enough to save this flick from my boredom".
Trivia[]
- This is the third film to be directed by Masami Ōbari, following Legend of the Hungry Wolf and The New Battle.
- Jamin catching the bullet and throwing it on the blue-haired coworker's forehead is similar to Raditz catching the bullet and throwing it at the farmer, killing him in the process.
- In the English dub, it is implied that Billy and Geese swear:
- When Andy, Billy, and Jubei notice Hauer, Billy swears: "Son of a b*tch!" while Andy shouts Mai's name.
- When Terry mourns Lily, Geese says: "You want the b*tch, you can have her!" and laughs evilly.
- This is the first time Andy kissed Mai.
- It is revealed that Terry still loves Sulia.
- This is the second time Terry throws his cap into the air, following The New Battle.
Mistakes[]
- When Cheng sees the military office burned, the soldiers aren't seen.
- Panni is missing her top glove detached sleeve when Hauer turns to her and Jamin.
- Hauer's gems on his armor are either miscolored differently or missing: firstly, two of them are miscolored yellow when he says that they're facing a bunch of unworthy opponents. Secondly, one of the gems is miscolored silver when he puts on his mask. Thirdly, one of the gems is missing when Hauer tells Andy that Mai will be unhappy if he does one false move. Fourthly, his gems are miscolored red and yellow when Hauer kneels down to pick up the box as Mai watches. Lastly, throughout the rest of the scene where there is the red sky, Hauer's gems are purple.
- Hauer's right mask is miscolored white when he laughs lightly at Mai.
- Hauer's top is miscolored white when Sulia walks and stops at his back.
