Hercules - formerly Hercules: The Thracian Wars (2014) is an American action film directed by Brett Ratner, and adapted to screenplay by Ryan Condaland Evan Spiliotopoulos. Based on Radical Studios' graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars by Steve Moore, it stars Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (in multiple roles), Ian McShane, Reece Ritchie, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt. Joint distribution by Paramount Pictures and MGM, is currently set for July 25, 2014.


Plot[edit | edit source]

Both man and myth, Hercules (Dwayne Johnson) leads a band of mercenaries to help end a bloody civil war in the land of Thrace and return the rightful king to his throne. A tormented soul from birth, Hercules has the strength of a God but feels the suffering of a human. Unimaginable villains will test the mythical power of Hercules in Director Brett Ratner’s gritty take on one of the most epic action heroes of the ages.
