Lovin' Molly is a 1974 American drama film directed by Sidney Lumet and starring Anthony Perkins, Beau Bridges, Blythe Danner, Ed Binns and Susan Sarandon. The film is based on Larry McMurtry's novel, Leaving Cheyenne.
Taking place over the course of 40 years in rural Texas, this romance tells the story of two friends, Gid Frey (Anthony Perkins), a rancher, and Johnny McCloud (Beau Bridges), a cowboy, who both fall in love with the same woman, the independent-minded Molly Taylor (Blythe Danner). Over the years, Molly marries another man, but continues to carry on romantic relationships with both Gid and Johnny. But the situation takes on new dimensions when Molly has a child with both Gid and Johnny.
