Luis Guzman (born August 28, 1956 in Cayey, Puerto Rico) is an actor. He starred in the films Carlito's Way (1993), Boogie Nights (1997), Out of Sight (1998), Snake Eyes (1998), The Limey (1999), Magnolia (1999), Traffic (2000), Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Welcome to Collinwood (2002).
He has also had starring roles in the television series Oz, John From Cincinatti and How To Make It In America.
Career[]
Guzman frequently works with the director Steven Soderbergh. They first collaborated on the 1998 crime drama Out of Sight, where Guzman played a n incarcerated felon named Chino. Guzman appeared in Soderbergh's next film The Limery (1999) as Eduardo Roel, a friend of the missing girl that the title character is searching for. He played Drug Enforcement Agency Agent Ray Castro in Soderbergh's next film Traffic (2000).
He has also frequently worked with the director Paul Thomas Anderson. He played pornographic film cinematographer Maurice TT Rodriguez in Boogie Nights (1997). He played a quiz show contestant named Luis in Magnolia (1999). He played Lance, an employee of the main character's novelty goods company, in Punch-Drunk Love (2002).
