Milla Jovovich is a Russian-born American actress. She is best known for having the starring role in the Resident Evil films, but these days she is also a commonly used model for L'Oreal cosmetics, as well as other famous brands.
Early Career[]
Before Milla became famous for acting, she modeled. She was "discovered" at the age of nine and began modeling. In 1988 she was signed to a contract with Revlon. She appeared on the covers of Vogue and Cosmopolitan. Her modeling career overlapped with her acting career, however. In 1988 she had a small role in the film Two Moon Junction. She later had roles on Married...With Children and Paradise.
Breakthrough[]
In 1997, Jovovich gained acclaim for her role in the film, The Fifth Element, portraying an alien. She was nominated for "Best Fight" at the MTV Movie Awards. In 2001, she portrayed the evil Katinka in the film, Zoolander. In 2002, she starred in the first Resident Evil, which led to a mainstream following. She has appeared in multiple Resident Evil films since then, as the main character, Alice. She accepted the role at first because she and her brothers had enjoyed playing the Resident Evil video game as children.
Recent Roles[]
Jovovich recently starred in The Fourth Kind and Resident Evil: Afterlife. In September of 2012 she will star in Resident Evil: Retribution.
