Noah Taylor, born September 4, 1969 in London, England, UK, is an actor. He grew up in Australia and has been active since 1986. He has had roles in the films Almost Famous (2000), Vanilla Sky (2001), Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Max (2002), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), The Proposition (2005), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), The New World (2005), Submarine (2010), and Lawless (2012).
His first prominent role in an American film was as tour manager Dick Roswell in Cameron Crowe's music drama Almost Famous (2000). He played mysterious engineer Edmund Ventura in Vanilla Sky in 2001, starring opposite Tom Cruise. He played Adolf Hitler in the drama Max in 2002, appearing alongside John Cusack. He played Bryce in the Tomb Raider film series, appearing in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) and its sequel Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life (2003). He played outlaw Brian O'Leary in director John Hillcoat's Australian period crime drama The Proposition in 2005, appearing with Guy Pearce. He played troubled settler Selway in The New World (2005). He played mild mannered academic and father Lloyd Tate in the 2010 independent British film Submarine. He played gangster Gummy Walsh in the period crime drama Lawless (2012), reuniting him with director John Hillcoat. His character is a lieutenant of crime boss Floyd Banner, played by Gary Oldman.
He appeared in the third season of HBO drama Game of Thrones in 2013.
