Open Season 2 is a 2008 American computer-animated comedy romance road film directed by Matthew O'Callaghan and produced by Sony Pictures Animation. This is the sequel to the Columbia’s 2006 animated feature film Open Season and the second installment of the Open Season franchise. It focuses on Mr. Weenie being "kidnapped" by his old proprietary and Elliot and the gang tries to save him.
The only actors of the first film to reprise their roles were Jane Krakowski, Cody Cameron, Billy Connolly, Georgia Engel, Danny Mann, Nika Futterman and Michelle Murdocca that reprises their roles of Giselle, Mr. Weenie, McSquizzy, Bobbie, Serge, Rosie and Maria respectively while Martin Lawrence, Ashton Kutcher and Patrick Warburton that are replaced by Mike Epps, Joel McHale and Maddie Taylor respectively. Crispin Glover, Fred Stoller, Sean Mullen, Diedrich Bader and Olivia Hack joins them voicing new characters. Like its predecessor, it was positively welcomed from audience despite receiving mixed reviews from film critics.
It was released direct-to-video in the United States, and theatrically in other countries.
