Phineas and Ferb was the tentative title of a film adaptation of the TV show Phineas and Ferb. Very little is known about this project except that it would have been a combination of live action and animation and will be written by Jeff "Swampy" Marsh, Dan Povenmire and Academy Award-winning screenwriter Michael Arndt. Media gossiper Jim Hill mentioned that Disney's plan for the film included having the Phineas and Ferb characters be portrayed by live actors. This was denied by Dan Povenmire, who stated that the characters would remain animated as they would on the show.
Originally announced in 2011, the movie was originally set to be released on July 26, 2013, but it was delayed to a 2014 date to be determined later. However, Deadline Hollywood reported on August 16, 2013 that the movie had been removed from Disney's release schedule. On the same day, Jeff "Swampy" Marsh stated on Twitter that the film was in development hell.
As the series entered its fourth seasons, the decision was made to not proceed with the film and instead focus on the specials that had been approved, along with wrapping up the series.
