Rush Hour 2 is a 2001 American buddy action comedy film. It is the second installment of the Rush Hour series. The sequel to Rush Hour, it stars Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. It was released on August 3, 2001. The film followed up to its sequel Rush Hour 3.

Plot[edit | edit source]

After an explosion at the US Embassy in Hong Kong kills two customs agents investigating currency smuggling, Inspector Lee (Jackie Chan) and James Carter (Chris Tucker) search for the mastermind. Ricky Tan (John Lone), head of the Fu-Cang-Long Triad, sends out his minions to insure that Carter and Lee don't solve the case.

Because of development hell, Rush Hour 3 was not released until August 10, 2007—six years after Rush Hour 2. In 2007, it was reported that a sequel to the third one, set in Moscow, was in negotiations.
