Scrat is an acorn obsessed crazy and down with luck sabertooth squirrel that always tries to catch and bury his acorn but he always lose it or gets in some trouble while trying in the Ice Age franchise. Actually, Scrat dosen't join or interact with the other protagonists except in some occasions since he always has his own subplot during the movies and never joins the Herd in their adventures. He has appeared in Ice Age, Ice Age: The Meltdown, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs, Ice Age: Continental Drift and Ice Age: Collision Course. It is unknown at this time if he will appear in the upcoming spin-off film Ice Age: Adventures of Buck Wild.
He's voiced by Chris Wedge even though Scrat dosen't talk as he was modeled to be a comical character in the style of Wile E. Coyote but he makes squeeks and screams.

- Originally, he was going to have only one scene but he was so successful between the test audience that the creators decided to give him more scenes. The popularity of the character would later convince them to put him in the sequels too.
- He was inspired from Wile E. Coyote.
