Plot[]
Charles Brady (Brian Krause) and his mother Mary (Alice Krige) are the last of a vampiric species known as “sleepwalkers,” feline-like shapeshifters who survive by draining the lifeforce of virginal women. After fleeing their previous town, they settle in Travis, Indiana, where Charles sets his sights on Tanya Robertson (Mädchen Amick), a kindhearted local girl he meets at the movie theater. While Tanya believes she is entering a budding romance, Charles is plotting to use her as his next victim to sustain himself and his mother.
As Charles and Mary’s predatory nature comes to light, Tanya becomes the target of their deadly obsession. However, the sleepwalkers have one fatal weakness: cats, whose claws and scratches can kill them. The climax pits Tanya, aided by an army of cats, against the monstrous pair in a violent showdown. The film combines themes of incestuous dependence, predatory desire, and supernatural horror, offering a twisted take on the vampire mythos with Stephen King’s signature blend of terror and dark humor.
