Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is a 2019 American epic space opera film directed by J.J. Abrams. It will be the third and final film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, and will serve as the sequel to the second film in the trilogy, Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017). Abrams previously directed Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), which was the first film in the sequel trilogy.
