Steven Seagal is an American actor and martial artist. He is known for his role in Hard to Kill, Under Siege and The Patriot as well as being a supporter of animal rights and environmentalism.
Martial Arts[]
Seagal moved to Japan in his late teens and became the first foreigner to operate an akido dojo in Japan. He studied martial arts and attained a 7th dan degree as well as a Shihan in akido.
Early Film Career[]
Seagal's first film was Above the Law in 1987. Following the success of the film, he went on to make three other successful films: Hard to Kill, Marked for Death and Out for Justice. These films gave him the reputation as an acion star in Hollywood.
Later Film Career[]
Seagal mostly stars in direct-to-video films these days, but has pursued other ventures, such as music and his campaigning for animal rights. He also stars in a show called Steven Seagal: Lawman, which showcases his life as a sheriff's deputy in Louisiana.
