The Beach is an American adventure film directed by Danny Boyle, written from the screenplay by John Hodge. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tilda Swinton, Virginie Ledoyen, Guillaume Canet, and Robert Carlyle. The film was released in theaters on February 11, 2000. This film is based on the 1996 novel The Beach, written by Alex Garland.
Premise[]
Richard, a young man, travels to Thailand and finds himself in possession of an odd map which is rumoured to lead to an island paradise. Accompanied by a few friends, he sets out to find it.
