The Devil Inside is a supernatural horror film in the style of a "found-footage" documentary that was released in U.S. theaters on January 6, 2012. The director, William Brent Bell, has also directed 2006's Stay Alive and 1997's Sparkle and Charm.
Plot Outline[]
The Devil Inside is about a woman who becomes involved in a series of exorcisms while trying to solve the mystery of her own demon-possessed mother, who committed a triple murder, during an exorcism performed on her.
Production[]
Shot at several different locations in 2010, including Bucharest in Romania, Rome in Italy, and the Vatican City, it was made in the "found footage" style. This production style portrays a fictional story, but tries to give the impression that the events actually took place. Brought to Paramount Pictures by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Steven Schneider via Paramount Insurge - Paramount's low-budget branch - Paramount acquired the film for the first release from that branch, hoping it would mimic previous successes with the "Paranormal Activity" franchise.
