The Drowning Pool is a 1975 American neo-noir thriller film directed by Stuart Rosenberg, starring Paul Newman, Joanne Woodward and Anthony Franciosa. It based on Ross Macdonald's novel of the same name.
Plot[]
Edgy detective Lew Harper (Paul Newman) is hired by an old flame, Iris Devereaux (Joanne Woodward), who is being blackmailed about an affair she says never happened. He travels down to Louisiana to investigate, but things take a turn for the worse when her mother-in-law is killed.
