The Expendables 3 is a 2014 ensemble action film directed by Patrick Hughes and is a sequel to the 2012 film, The Expendables 2 and it is the third of the trilogy. It stars Sylvester Stallone, Antonio Banderas, Jet Li, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Kelsey Grammer and various. It was released on August 15, 2014.

Plot

Barney (Sylvester Stallone, Christmas (Jason Statham), and the rest of the team comes face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks had become a ruthless arms trader and someone who Barney was forced to kill...or so he thought. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, now is making it his mission to end The Expendables -- but Barney has other plans. Barney decides that he has to fight old blood with new blood, and brings in a new era of Expendables team members, recruiting individuals who are younger, faster and more tech-savvy. The latest mission becomes a clash of classic old-school style versus high-tech expertise in the Expendables’ most personal battle yet.

On Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds a rating of 32% based on 158 reviews; the average rating is 4.8/10. The site's consensus reads: "Like its predecessors, Expendables 3 offers a modicum of all-star thrills for old-school action thriller aficionados—but given all the talent assembled, it should have been a lot more fun." On Metacritic the film has a score of 35 out of 100 based on 35 critics, indicating "generally unfavorable reviews". The film received an average "A−" CinemaScore from audiences, on an A+ to F scale.
