The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers is the second part of a film trilogy directed by Peter Jackson, based on J. R. R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings.
The film was released on December 18 2002. It is preceded by The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and followed by The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, although the film's story stops about halfway though the book's storyline The Two Towers.
